It looks like Ryan Reynolds is getting back in the superhero business...yay? Fox announced Thursday that a Deadpool movie would be spun off the studio’s “X-Men” franchise, hitting theaters Feb. 12, 2016.
Though Reynolds hasn’t officially signed on, industry insiders expect him to reprise his role as the wisecracking, katana-wielding mutant assassin with healing powers last seen in 2009 flick “X-Men Origins: Wolverine.”
A spinoff starring Reynolds seemed to be on track several years ago, but was derailed by disappointing box office results from the actor’s’s 2011 superhero forray in “Green Lantern.” and we all know how that movie turned out...yeahhh.
